The focus of Relocation Readiness is to insure information, guidance, and assistance are provided to support active duty and reserve component service members, family members, and Department of the Army civilians who move from one community to another. This assistance is available at Fort McCoy’s Army Community Service (ACS), 2111 S 8th Ave. ACS can provide the following services designed to assist with relocation: Welcome Packets contain local-area information on such things as housing, education, employment, and childcare. SITES booklets have been discontinued. New resources have been established at www.militaryonesource.com and www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil/moving. These websites provide relevant information on most major DOD installations worldwide. They provide information on such areas as the Installation and Local Community, Education, Employment, Housing, Medical, and other services. The Lending Closet provides for the temporary loan of basic household items for incoming and outgoing personnel during a PCS move. The Newcomer's Orientation provides an opportunity for new personnel to become familiar with the many services available at Fort McCoy and to receive a guided tour of the installation. Orientations are generally conducted the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Information about the next Newcomer's Orientation Unit sponsors are an integral part of the relocation process. ACS provides welcome packets and SITES booklets for sponsors to send to incoming personnel. Your sponsor should also assist you with inprocessing once you arrive by taking you to the various places on the unit inprocess checklist.
